--------------------------------------------------- EMAG2 add-on for NASA World Wind, created by GETECH README file --------------------------------------------------- Instructions for use: (the following assumes you are using a PC with NASA Worldwind and winzip installed) For the full version including magnetic data as surface relief 1. Download the zip file to your local machine 2. Using Winzip, extract the contents of the zip file to the folder containing your Worldwind installation – for example “C:\Program Files\NASA\World Wind 1.4”. 3. Open Worldwind, and in the upper toolbar select “File ==> EMAG2” You should now be able to navigate around the Earth, and explore the EMAG2 data compilation. For the image-only version: The magnetic data can be viewed as an image layer within the 'Earth' world, draped onto the Earth's topography. Notes: The images of the EMAG2 magnetic data are histogram equalised. These images are terrain-mapped on to a surface with a linear vertical scale, thereby preserving the actual anomaly shapes and illustrating the huge relative amplitudes of certain magnetic anomalies such as those in eastern and northern Russia. The best vertical exaggeration will vary between different areas of the data, the exaggeration can be easily altered using the number keys.
